Why have you put advertising on your site?

It is amazing how much the traffic to this site has increased over the past few years! In the first half of 2002, we averaged 5-6GB of data transfers per month. Now, in September of 2007, we are averaging 6GB per day! That is around 10,000 visitors a day. With the increase in visitors, the site has now become an asset that we need to steward wisely.
It has been my desire to keep this site free to visitors as a way for me to give back to the education community. We want to continue to provide resources for free. Please be assured, as that will not change! We had been contemplating advertising for a while, but weren't certain of the best way to do it. We were approached by HotChalk Network who provides advertising aimed at the educational market. The set up allows us to have authority over what advertising is offered on the site. If you are a educational company and would like to advertise with us, then go to our advertising storefront. This seemed to be a good fit for us.
We have taken the Donation page off line due to the advertising. To all who supported us by donations in the past, thank you very much! May God bless you for your generosity.
