Extended Day K

Extended Day Kindergarten (EDK) is designed for students who need an 'extra boost' before heading to first grade in the fall.  Students attend their regular half day kindergarten class for part of the day and EDK for the other portion of their day. This gives students a full day of kindergarten - switching classrooms midday. The EDK class is not designed to be a repeat of the regular kindergarten session. However, review of lessons and skills taught in the regular session are stressed. The curriculum contains a very strong emphasis on emergent literacy, phonemic awareness, and following directions.

The parent and student site is no longer being updated, but it will give you much insight into the types of learning activities we did, our classroom layout, etc.!
