For the last five years, our family really has done a craft a day the month of December and they have LOVED it! This year (2009) is the first year that we are not following the activity guide and readings that I have posted on the website. With my oldest being in second grade, a new baby due the end of our homeschool year, and me wanting to try something slightly different this year, we have been still plugging along with our regular school work these first two weeks of December. However, we have been doing the Jesse Tree this year though - reading an old and new testament passage each day and then hanging a corresponding ornament on our little Jesse Tree. Next week, our schoolwork will be lighter and we will do a few crafts then. If, at some point, we begin to school year round, I would be more apt to go back and do a craft/activity a day again.

If you feel stressed trying to attempt a craft a day, then just don't do it =) Maybe do just a couple each week -whatever works for your family. Each year, with different ages of kids and varying family situations, adjust to what works best for you.

Blessings,
Michelle

hi michelle, i was looking around on your website for some christmas ideas and wanted to ask you a question... you have so many excellent craft ideas which coincide with each scripture passage-- so do you try to do a craft EVERY day during the month of december? we have a 6 year old, a 4 year old, and a 5 month old baby, and to me it seems really hard to accomplish a craft day after day.... so i was just wondering what your thoughts are? thank you, as always, for your help:) !
